Training game starting in a couple of weeks
Hi Guys

Ross and myself are hoping to commence a training game soon. Anyone else interested? Probably another 4 people tops. I think a 3v3 is enough for the first one. Not too many, so the game will hopefully flow well, but not too few either, so we can learn from each others moves

Let me know please. Newbies (like us!) will get precedence, but one experienced player to explain any issues we have along the way may be a good idea too, if anyone's available

Cheers

Drew

Big Grin RE: Training game starting in a couple of weeks
Hi Drew, I'm in !.
Still have to finish to read the combat rules... and try to fully understand it. Hope to do it during the next week.

Did you mean to play with basic+advanced rules?

Pablo

RE: Training game starting in a couple of weeks
Hi Guys,

welcome on board.

So at the moment we have 4 players.

Does anyone have a preference for a scenario? - I'm at work and no access to the rules.

Hopefully we should be able to get this up and running at the end of next week (23rd)

cheers

Ross

Hi Ross

If you're still looking to do 3 v 3 I'd be up for a game.

I'm playing my first ever game at the moment on CSW.

Scenarios #15, #20 or #25 may be possibilities?

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,

welcome aboard.

All we need is one more and the 3 vs 3 is on.

By the way are we doing this with VASSAL logs or using the PBEM system and one of us updates one VASSAL save file that gets sent out at the end of a turn?

I am happy to take that on if that's ok - I might even do an AAR Shy

I'll have a look at those scenarios tonight.

Ross

Hi Andy,

Scenario #15 would be my vote as long as I can fly a DH2 Angel
The other 2 scenarios do have 2 seaters in them.

Or we can just select 2 different plane types, agree to a starting location and have at it Big Grin

RE: Training game starting in a couple of weeks
I think Scenario 15 sounds like the best option

For me, I would prefer we posted moves via email, not Vassal logs. A Vassal EOT each turn would be good. If Ross is happy to do an AAR, I'm happy to do an EOT descriptive summary at the end of each turn. Like Ross, my favourite WW1 aircraft is the DH2, but I'm more than happy to take a DII for this scrap, because it's an aircraft I know little about. But if push comes to shove, I really don't mind if others are more passionate about a preference

Cheers

RE: Training game starting in a couple of weeks
#15 is fine with me - although I'm happy to fly the two-seater in either of the other two.

No preference for side - all the aircraft are new to me albeit I have "flown" a flight of DH2s in Bloody April. They all got shot down by Werner Voss and his two wingmen flying Alb DIIIs...

Recording moves by e-mail - either in a thread here, a Yahoo Group or whatever I agree is the best. I tend to keep my own VASSAL map updated (FW habit!) but great if someone is happy to post up an end of turn description/positions.

Cheers

Andy

RE: Training game starting in a couple of weeks
So, we have:
Ross - DH2
Andrew
Pablo
Andy
Drew - Fokker DII

Pick your seats gentlemen

However, I more is required. Any takers? If not it opens up a few more scenarios I think, so the above doesn't have to be set in stone :-)

Whatever scenario we play, what level of difficulty do players want? Basic, advanced, optional rules?

Cheers

Drew
